Now find center start flap square to measure 9 inches with center of flap and shawl match. Dc across the 9 inch area until the flap is 9 inches long. This may sound confusing but once you start the flap, it will make it easy to figure out as people gauge is different

Materials: Size P or N crochet hook: As many 3 oz. skeins as needed to make size desired in any colors desired. I used (3) 6 oz skeins of any variegated yarn.

2-8oz cream 1-4oz rose 4-ply yarn J-hook Start with cream ch 100-plus 2.dc in 3rd ch from hook and across(100 dcs) Row2-9 dc across(100 dcs) fasten off after row 10 is finished. Row11 color change sc in rose across fasten off.Row 12-22 start with cream dc across. This is the pattern for afghan. I made it 44 rows then used 1 row of rose dcs as the middle accent, then continued with pattern to the next 44 rows Simple edging completes. With 1 dc in top and bottom edges and 3 dc in corners then sides with 1 dc in 1dc 2 dcs in nex dc so side edging is a little more flexable
